01Booking and minimum numbers
Open coursesA minimum of 4 participants is required for the course to run
Private coursesPackage price, no minimum number of participants
Group sizeMaximum 6 participants per instructor
If fewer than four people sign up for an open course, we will cancel no later than five days before the start. You will then be offered a new date or a full refund of the course fee.
02Cancellation
Applies to courses lasting 1–4 days. Deadlines are counted from the first course day.
| When you cancel | Your refund |
|---|---|
| 28 days or more before the course starts | Full refund, minus a 4% payment fee (minimum 100 NOK) |
| 15–27 days before the course starts | 50% refund, minus a 4% payment fee (minimum 100 NOK) |
| 14 days or less before the course starts | No refund, the full course fee is charged |
Cancellations must be made in writing by email. The date we receive your message determines which deadline applies.
If we cancel
If we have to cancel because of weather, avalanche conditions, illness or too few participants, you will be offered a new date or a full refund of the course fee. We do not cover travel, accommodation or any other expenses you have had.
The instructor may also change and adapt a course along the way if conditions require it. This does not entitle you to a refund. These decisions are always made with safety in mind.
03Liability
Participation in courses is at your own risk. Off-piste skiing is considered a high-risk sport, and no matter how much experience you have, it is never completely safe.
We only use certified and approved instructors, and we have our own health and safety procedures designed to help prevent accidents. These procedures are quality-assured by Norsk Fjellsportforum (the Norwegian Mountain Sports Forum), where we are an approved provider of avalanche training at level 2.
Tromsø Powder Guides and our instructors accept no financial liability for accidents that may occur during courses, guiding or events.
You must follow the instructor’s directions throughout, and tell us about any health conditions or medication that may affect your participation. The instructor may turn away participants who do not have the necessary equipment, or who are judged unable to complete the course safely.
04Equipment and insurance
Avalanche and ski touring equipment is not included in the course price. You need your own equipment, or to rent it in advance. See the packing list for what you need.
Insurance is not included
Personal travel and accident insurance is not included in the course price, and you need to arrange this yourself. Check that your insurance covers off-piste skiing.
Mountain rescue in Norway is free, but related costs and any transport home are not. Also consider cancellation insurance that covers the course fee if you have to withdraw after the refund deadline has passed.
Questions about the terms?
Get in touch before you sign up. It’s easier to clear things up in advance than afterwards.
